Yeah exactly. Yoshinori Kitase has already stated he wouldn't put DLC for FFXIII because he feels it is a cheap way to help promote a game, especially with Dlc already available upon the game's release.

back to topic: I think these rumors are too much based on wishful thinking.
Microsoft has got too much spare time. Anyway I don't have financial problems (own a macbookpro15.4" aluminium unibody, 80Gb PS3 MGS4 bundle and a falcon360 in aluminium case mod) but I agree that brand name is a lame excuse to put prices higher, however, apple sells less so they must boost their prices to make a profit in the long run. And sony has a console with crazy costly components.
EDIT: I also forgot, I'm currently looking for a jdm Toyota Supra :P.
well, usually there's the NPD, media create (if that's the name) and (sorry) some other kind of NPD firm for europe, but all of a sudden we get a sh!tload of news about every country or almost of europe showing sales figures. anyway they only point position and not actual copies sold.

I get your point but it's actually sony that was to screw up Nintendo. In the contract, sony was to make almost all the profits off the CD add-on. Nintendo refused and went in court, then all possibilities got destroyed, then ken kutaagi still wanted a videogame console as he was impressed by the potential the NES had, and gaming in general.

This article is so much right. A game releases on 360, the western isn't going to buy it because americans bought their Xbox for XBL+FPS. The japanese aren't also going to buy it because they don't want to shelve money on a console for one game alone. (well there's a lot of RPG's, crappy but a lot)
Is there some kind of rage from PS3 fans to prove 360 fans that RE5 is selling better on Ps3 than 360 everywhere except U.S. or what?

He used an almost 4 years old article to point out PS3 manufacturing cost. 494USD? er... more like ~850$! otherwise the PS3 would have started at 500$ and not 600$. And Sony wouldn't have lost all that money.
I was actually thinking this morning about the inevitable NPD (inevitable 'cause N4G members love sales more than playing the game) figure where we would see FFXIII being sold more on 360 than PS3. At least in NTSC territory.
There I'll try something. I haven't read yet and I can bet the infmaous PS3 price cut is in the top 5. Let's check it out.
EDIT: I wasn't expecting that kinf of list (from X company instead of a run down list) but the PS3 price cut is still the first item mentioned in sony's department.

yeah 400MS points or 4.99 for a 4 player online battle , so you gotta buy thta DLc 4 times, once for each machine, (except perhaps on the PS3, with the 5 system download limit, but I'm sure they locked it). No way am I going to pay for that small of a gameplay mode, heck any FPS has now 32player battle as standard FREE.
